Dallas arrived in Philadelphia with the league’s least-used ground game and left having bullied its fiercest rival on the ground. The final score of 38-21 lifted Dallas to a 3-4 record; the Eagles, now 2-5, have lost five in a row.

The numbers tell the tale. A team that had averaged barely 21 carries a game piled up 204 rushing yards on 38 carries behind a dominant offensive line. Javonte Williams did most of the work with 155 yards on 25 attempts, a career best and the most by any Dallas back since Ezekiel Elliott’s big day in 2016, and he sealed the result with a 2-yard score with just over two minutes left.

That balance freed up Dak Prescott, who bounced back from two poor outings with 212 yards through the air, three scoring throws and not a single pick. CeeDee Lamb caught two of the scores, and George Pickens produced the highlight of the night with a fingertip grab in the corner of the end zone. Prescott’s 80th game with multiple touchdown passes moved him past Tony Romo in the franchise record book, and kicker Brandon Aubrey added three field goals, including a 55-yarder on the opening drive.

It was far from one-sided for three quarters. Saquon Barkley, back after missing two games, scored early, and Philadelphia’s backup quarterback Tanner McKee led a long opening drive after the break that gave the home side a one-point lead at 21-20. They never scored again. Dallas reeled off 18 unanswered points, and linebacker DeMarvion Overshown intercepted McKee to kill any thought of a comeback.

Next up for Dallas is a home game against Arizona on Sunday, where a win would level its record. In Philadelphia, the questions are getting louder.
